Job Description
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Hanover, MD.Responsibilities:
* Process invoices and check requests for payment.
* File and organize accounts payable invoices, purchase orders and check requests by vendor.
* Analyze and code invoices to appropriate GL account(s)
* Mail out all vendor checks
* Protect organization by keeping information confidential
* Assist accounts payable/payroll supervisor with other accounts payable responsibilities
* Assist manager of accounting with accounting responsibilities
* Process 1099 forms
* Assist in other projects as needed
* 2-year degree in accounting/finance or minimum 2 years equivalent experience
* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
* Accurate data entry skills
* Proficient in Excel and Word
* Must have strong work ethic
* Must be well organized and have strong time management skills
* Ability to work independently and with a team in a high volume and fast paced environment while displaying high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Experience using accounts payable software
