Raytheon Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Engineer to be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. Supplier Engineers provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. Our highly skilled Supplier Engineers are involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. In this role you will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. Join our team and drive Raytheon Technologies design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. Initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.
This is a critical role to manage suppliers that fall within the Mechanical and Energetics technologies. The products covered by these technologies typically include complex machined parts, castings, forgings, composite assemblies, control systems, warheads, batteries, safing devices (fuzes) & pyrotechnic devices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
2. Define, communicate and verify configuration requirements
3. Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
4. Ensure product and process capability across the suppliers value stream, including sub-tiers
5. Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the suppliers manufacturing and quality systems
6. Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
7. Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
8. Manage product non-conformances; Drive root cause and corrective action
9. Provide manufacturing guidance to suppliers
10. Proactively identify supplier risk and develop the mitigation plan
11. Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
12. Collaborate with EOSQP (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and the Programs) to drive supplier performance to goals
13. Actively participate in program / engineering reviews and change boards
14. Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
15. Travel to supplier facilities as deemed necessary (10-50%)

This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

Required Experience, Skills & Education:

* Bachelors Degree in engineering disciplines, hard science, mathematics, or physics
* Four (4) years experience in a STEM and/or Program/Production Management Role
* Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering or other technical documentation related to technical requirements of procured parts, including Statements of Work (SOW)
* Experience working directly with suppliers in the mechanical or energetics supply base or with products in the sub-technologies listed in the job description
* This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Desired Experience, Skills & Education:

* Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
* Experience with manufacturing, testing, design, and development of the type of products described previously
* Experience supporting business and functional deliverables
* Work experience with Microsoft Office suite or similar software programs
* Experience performing supplier assessments
* Excellent phone etiquette, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
* Familiarity of Export/Import regulations
* The ability to proactively anticipate and identify needs and expectations of department and integrate into work process
* Experience in requirements and interface development
* Experience in Statement of Work (SOW) generation
* Experience interfacing and communicating with all levels within an organization as well as with a large external customer base
* Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team based setting
* Experience working in a dynamic environment where work was planned, organized and prioritized
