The Role
The Aerospace and Defense (ADEF) Business Unit at Analog Devices, is currently seeking an experienced engineer to work on aspects of system design and development in the areas of: phased array radar, electronic warfare, military communications and/or satellite communications.
The role requires a broad skilled engineer, capable of many aspects of electronic system design while possessing strong interpersonal skills. The candidate should enjoy and excel at solving system level problems.
The candidate will operate as an interface between circuit designers, application engineers, software developers, marketing and customers. They will play a critical role in developing system demonstrations, defining product and sub-system requirements and contributing creative ideas to advance the company’s product offering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interact with customers, system architects and key technology leaders in the aerospace and defense industry, learning pain points and application challenges.
Work closely with Marketing, contributing to the technical aspects of product definition for future products.
Work with IC development team on requirements for future products & systems.
Support product development teams on feature, performance and cost trade-offs.
Support customers to evaluate and design ADI portfolio into end systems.
Contribute toward HW and SW implementation of system level developments to demonstrate ADI technology in an end application.
Minimum Qualifications
BS or MS degree in EE or ECE or equivalent relevant experience. Typically requires minimum of 3 years related and progressive experience.
Previous experience developing electronic warfare, radar, phased array, signals intelligence or other aerospace and defense applications.
Experience in RF Design, Digital Design, Analog Design, and/or Data Conversion preferred
A broad understanding of a typical IC development flow, from requirements and specs through volume production is a plus but not required
Must be comfortable working in the lab. Competence in Matlab and/or other open source tools preferred.
Must have prior experience in developing and debugging all aspects of mixed-signal hardware, including PCB capture and component selection.
