Position Description

Software architect with emphasis on systems that support fraud detection and prevention.
Serves as a high-level technical expert in application and/or business architecture for software development / infrastructure teams.
Acts as SME for project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of technology solutions.
In application architecture:  Designs the inter-system and inter-application structures, and advises teams of Ally standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes.
In business architecture:  Defines cross-business function processes and advises teams of consistent processes and common business functions.
Drives short-term and long-term architecture strategy for the overall technology project portfolio for key business segments.
Participates in proof of concepts (POC) to assist in defining technology direction and process improvement to enable business strategy.
Communicates and validates program architecture with technical leadership, program management, business line leadership, and executive level stakeholders.
This is a mid-level to senior-level, highly technical role that will serve as a mentor to more junior architects and will report to a Director of Architecture.

Job Responsibilities

Uses a broad and deep understanding of business and/or technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and critical design issues.
Advises teams of Ally standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes.
Contributes to the development of RFPs and SOWs, and participates in the vendor selection process.
Work assignments are typically focused on critical products for the organization.
Works independently and will likely act as a technical lead and a mentor to others.
Will communicate and cooperate with suppliers/vendors and/or business partners as required.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or other relevant field of study perferred

General:

Ability to mentor and coach a technical team, leading by example.
Expert knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure.
Ability to develop enterprise guidelines and standards.
Expert knowledge of the software development process and how it fits within the IT architecture and infrastructure.
Expert knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.
Expert knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems or expert knowledge of key business functions and processes.
Understanding of Information Security Policy and Procedures how they fit within the IT architecture and infrastructure.
Ability to lead or interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee, business partner, and/or supplier resources.
Ability to effectively communicate with other senior leaders of IT on program strategies and plans and negotiate quality solutions.

Experience in any of the following areas is preferred:

System integration using APIs, batch processing, and file exchange
Digital transformation: automating and improving manual or inefficient business processes
Core banking platforms such as Fiserv, TSYS, Shaw Systems, or similar
Underwriting platforms such as Zoot, FNI, or similar
Demand deposit account platforms
Contact center systems
Interactive voice response (IVR) automation
Configure price quite (CPQ) tools
Contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools

In-depth technical knowledge of some or all of the following technologies is preferred:

Salesforce
Genesys
Microsoft PowerBI
