Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Guidance Computer IPT Manager (S03). This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force rsquo;s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The Chief of Staff / Operations Lead rsquo;s primary responsibilities are to maintain all of the staffing management for the Guidance Computer for the GBSD program. The Chief of Staff will report to the Guidance Computer sub-IPT lead. Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
* Project Management, cost/schedule reporting, creation of a time-phased staffing plan in accordance with program schedule milestones, risk/opportunity management, Earned Value Management to assist sub-IPT lead.
* Helps meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems in multi-disciplinary organization. Typically accomplishes results through lower level(s) of management or exempt employees. Subject to approval, modifies the organizational structure of centralized functions and units.
* Execution of yearly performance appraisals and mid-year updates for direct reports
* Cognation and quick adoption of recently created engineering processes.
* Providing resources and understanding the needs of direct reports to enable productivity (tools, work environment, etc) in alignment with organizational goals and company policy.
* Maintaining excellent rapport with direct reports, leveraging exemplary ldquo;soft rdquo; interpersonal skills to be able to conduct difficult conversations as needed.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related area (Degrees in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering highly preferred) and 14 years of experience, Master rsquo;s Degree and 12 years of experience, or 9 Years of experience with PhD.
* Active Secret clearance investigated within the last 6 years
* 9+ years of relevant experience managing Hi-Rel Electronics/Military/Space systems
* 1 year of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application
* 1 year of experience with/knowledge of configuration management best practices, scheduling, and cost estimation
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current or active Top Secret, SCI, and/or Special Access clearance or higher highly preferred
* Masters rsquo; Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and/or MBA
* Experience leading Guidance, Navigation amp; Control teams, or on ICBM/missile programs
* Experience leading hardware procurement/supply chain operations
* Ability to deal with ambiguity and to meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment
* Ability to effectively maneuver through political situations and anticipate roadblocks
* Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
* Possesses strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with overseeing subcontracts for performance and accountability
* Knowledge of Agile approaches and Model-Based Engineering (MBE)
* Experience applying Agile and/or MBE to a project
* Experience as a Section or Functional Manager
