GBSD has an opening for a Senior Principal Digital Board Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The individual in this role will develop digital board designs utilized in the Guidance Computer (GC) flight Unit. The GC is a high reliability, radiation hardened flight controller for the GBSD Aerospace Vehicle (AVE). The GBSD Guidance Computer contains digital processing, digital I/O, and analog actuator/power I/O electronics functions. The scope of this role includes collaboration with systems engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other electrical engineers to perform design trades and requirements flowdown, to create interconnection drawings, to perform electrical analysis, to develop test plans, and ultimately to deliver working hardware that meets program requirements. The qualified candidate will be a digital design engineer who will work on digital board design and development with application in an embedded control processing function. This position reports directly to the Guidance Computer Unit Responsible Design Engineer (RDE).

This position rsquo;s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Experience designing board level digital hardware including architecture development, conceptual design, detail circuit design, schematics development, worst case analysis and board Integration amp; Test
* Experience developing Digital Electronics for Radiation Hardened Missile or Space applications
* Bachelor 39;s in Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other STEM related degree with minimum 8 years rsquo; experience, or Master 39;s in Science with 6 years of experience; 3 years with a PhD.
* Active Dod Secret Security clearance

50% travel to El Segundo for the first 3 months, 25% thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

* Digital or Mixed signal unit, slice, board, and/or ASIC/FPGA design and development experience
