PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Manufacture wire harnesses using jigs and fixtures that involve an intricate network of wires, junctions, and terminal blocks where consideration must be given to space limitations and obstructions to wire paths. Wire point to point on special cabinets and control boxes.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Manual and power operated tools, pliers, crimpers, strippers, wrenches, scales, taps drills, files, hammers, insertion and extraction tools.

MATERIAL:

Cabinets, drawers, relays, lamps, transformers, fuses, wire, terminal blocks, plugs, switches, twine, pins, sockets, and connectors.

DIRECTION OF OTHERS:

Provide technical assistance/direction to lower classified personnel.

WORKING PROCEDURE:

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE OF PAY FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.

In addition to performing the duties of the E06122, Electrical Assembler quot;B quot;, performs the following:

1) Receive work assignment from supervision.

2) Read and follow safety regulations and procedures and MI package including

drawings, diagrams, schematics, change notices, operation sheets, specifications

and work authorizations.

3) Prepare wire marker lists from wiring diagrams and schematics.

4) Cut wire to length, remove insulation, fit and install into various cabinets

controller boxes and equipment, using the hand point to point wiring method.

5) Position, clamp, crimp, terminate, and tie wires in guide pins according to

diagrams and schematics to form wire harnesses and cables. Fit and install

wire harnesses and cables into various cabinets and equipment.

6) Install, connect and pot cables and harnesses on various cabinets and equipment.

7) Check work for conformance to specifications using buzzers and/or continuity

checkers and repair as necessary.

8) Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition

and set equipment calibrations.

9) Sign off operations completed and obtain final inspection sign off on operation

sheets as required.

10) Make proper time charge entries and record data as required.

11) Perform other work of equal or lower classification as required.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* 2+ years of experience as an electrical assembler in a similar role, manufacturing low-voltage cables and boards.
* Ability to climb in and around the units to install heavy cable harnesses
* Ability to lift up to 30+ pounds
* High School Diploma or GED
