Job Description:SummaryThe Custodial Manager performs supervisory work involving the assignment and direct supervision of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness of the physical plant and specified collections.
* Hires, trains and supervises custodial staff including training employees in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents and chemicals.
* Plans and executes periodic cleaning tasks required to maintain building surfaces and extend the life of floor coverings, window treatments, wall coverings, fixtures, etc.
* Responsible for managing Custodial budget staying within budget guidelines.
* Oversees and prepares purchase orders for purchasing, receiving, stocking and disposal of supplies, materials and equipment for the custodial department.
* Oversees the care and safety of the museum and its collections by the custodians.
* Work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.

Minimum Requirements:
* Previous five years of custodial experience with at least two years of experience supervising other custodians.
* Ability to lift fifty pounds.
* A minimum education of a high school diploma or its equivalent an associate degree preferred.
* Basic computer skills.
