First Alert is seeking a Director, Trade Marketing in our corporate headquarters based out of Aurora, Illinois. This position will be responsible for the development of our North American trade marketing / sales planning strategies as part of our integrated business plan to drive key Retail, ECommerce and B2B partners including product launches, promotions and marketing campaigns for the First Alert and BRK brands. They will be accountable for delivering the best in class strategies and market place approaches to maximize business results while increasing growth within the category. The Director, Trade Marketing will work closely cross functionally to ensure that all efforts are aligned with business goals and the brands' core values are being followed. This role contributes to current marketing thought leadership in department strategies, key customer presentations, and meetings.

Responsibilities:

* Management and direction of Trade Marketing team supporting the business.
* Constructs strategic plans for North Amercian trade marketing activation and sales roadmap, including pricing, promotions and off-shelf activations per customer. Alignment with national brand initiatives is key.
* Serves as a liaison between Sales and Marketing by providing voice of customer to Marketing and coordinates all by providing knowledge of marketing and brand strategies to the field.
* Delivers against consumer insights/trends by executing customer and shopper specific brand strategies at retail partners.
* Develops, tracks and evaluates ROI conscious programs that target increased foot traffic, conversion rates or loyalty, leveraging product placement, promotion, and pricing tactics, both shopper marketing and POS.
* Grows brand availability and visibility via development and execution of successful Omni Channel strategies across all channels and customer partners.
* Works closely with the Sales and Data teams to establish POS goals, ensure tracking systems are in place to measure execution with sales and commercial partners and deliver on specific customer programs.
* Analyzes POS and legislative trends and develop insights for Sales and Strategy. Organizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions and insights from data sources and translates findings for application at the customer team level.
* Partners with Sales & Finance on customer pricing and program strategies and ensures proper application of funding to maximize margin and ROI.
* Develops & executes commercial plans for new product innovation, product transtions and sku rationalization/product life cycle management efforts
* Collaborates with cross-functional partners such as Marketing, Supply Chain, New Product Development, and Finance on IBP initiatives to ensure all business unit KPIs are met..
* Oversees preparation and delivers presentations for Sales and customer meetings, as well as strategy meetings on an as-needed basis.
* Attends key account meetings as strategic member whenever needed.
* Provides guidance, perspective and thought leadership on new business pitches.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
* Prioritizes people management and is a mentor. Experience managing large team.
* Experience in direct customer sales, business analytics, or customer or category marketing required.
* Previous experience with e-commerce and CPG brands required. Experience including home improvement channel preffered.
* Must have the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment.
* Ability to complete projects and follow processes to deliver results, including volume achievement.
* Demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives.
* Ability to manage funds and resources to deliver the greatest outcome for the company
* Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, database information sources, and web applications required.
* An entrepreneurial spirit that is energetic, positive and resourceful.
* Must be able to travel 10-20% of the time
