Description
The Senior Designer is responsible for creating commercially viable packaging designs and building creative concept for product digital marketing for the Victoria's Secret PINK Beauty categories. This role has an exceptional eye and ability to create new design ideas while researching the market for innovative design trends. This person demonstrates a passion for the brand, inspires individuals, and relies on managerial skills to plan and accomplish goals. This person manages work under minimal supervision, exercising a moderate degree of scope/decision-making.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executing Creative Work
* Generate product designs that propel the creative direction and improve brand codes, aesthetic, and product characteristics
* Ideate the digital marketing experience for new and existing products
* Deliver product designs with flawless execution; achieving goals with speed, agility and acute attention to detail
* Apply and communicate awareness of financial and business implications to deliverables; ensure deliverables meet budget and time commitments without compromising design excellence
* Prioritize team workloads; ensure competing deliverables are met according to the seasonal calendar
Brand, Retail & Customer Focus
* Identify practices that will ensure product designs reflect our customers' needs
* Anticipate relevant trends and effectively translate to our brand/products
* Ensure brand aesthetic is filtered appropriately across product designs and will fit seamlessly into store/digital
* Impart brand standards to team, maintaining a consistent message
Leadership & Partnership
* Leverage partnerships to support/align the work of the team, incorporating an understanding of other teams' impact on deliverables
* Expand collaboration with cross-functional partners at all levels to ensure work is consistent with the overall product line
* Network with key partners to meet deliverables and resolve obstacles
* Put forward solutions that are in the best interest of the company, associates, and customers
Presenting Ideas
* Present cohesive designs to leadership and teams, concisely articulating ideas and influencing decisions to benefit the business
* Evolve product designs, identify/engage key stakeholders for feedback and determine how to integrate into product designs
* Develop presentation format and organize content according to audience
* Present with consideration of store/digital
Functional Expertise
* Identify best practices, adapt, and enhance the design process
* Communicate comprehensive understanding of design product lifecycle to team, through to in-store/digital execution
* Capitalize on knowledge of design tools, techniques and applications to create/share efficiencies to refine deliverables
* Consistently apply ability to edit designs
* Assess practices to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and speed in delivery
Qualifications
* Degree in the design field with 8+ years of related industry experience
* Previous experience in packaging, production, press runs and photo art direction
* Experience with relevant design software particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; Video is a plus
* Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performance
* Experience at applying theories related to color schemes, use of space, text placement, usability, and visual flow
* Demonstrate commitment to bringing in new sources of creative inspiration to work/the team and drive to enhance creative and technical skills
* Demonstrate understanding of the marriage between design freedom and business requirements
