We are currently seeking a dynamic nursing professional to join our team. The Charge Nurse is a proficient nursing leader and integral member of the multidisciplinary team who has developed expertise in an expanded RN role within a specific unit/shift setting. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the routine functioning of the unit on his/her assigned shift. The Charge Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. The Charge Nurse is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes in accordance with the missions of the hospital.
Qualifications
Licenses or Certifications: Current nursing licensure in the state of Arkansas or a compact state. Current CPR and CPI certifications, or must obtain within two (2) weeks of date of hire (offered onsite).
Total education, vocational training and experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Minimum two (2) years psychiatric experience preferred. Documented experience working with children (ages 5-12), adolescents (ages 13-18), and/or adults (ages 18 plus), specific to Unit assigned preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Effective oral and written communication skills and knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
* Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisor and other hospital employees.
* Ability to provide direction, support, and supervision.
* Good organization and time management skills.
* Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
* Ability to adapt to changes in how information is processed.
