Job Accountabilities

Crown CAPP is seeking an experienced Plant Superintendent. The position will work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure the smooth daily functioning of plant operations within a high-speed metal packaging manufacturing facility. Key components of this position includes following all safety protocols, SOPs, and assurance of quality along with facilitation of teamwork. This is a staff position in high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment where compliance to all safety policies, procedures and regulations is our way of doing business. Day to day responsibilities will include the following:

* Supports the plant manager in all aspects of daily plant operations and Plant Manager responsibilities when needed
* Supervises, directs and coordinates through supervisory personnel activities concerned with production.
* This would include utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, standards and machine and equipment capability.
* Collaborates with Quality Supervisor to establish production and QC standards, follows Quality corrective action, quality review forms, 9-step and attends plant trainings
* Plans and directs production activities and priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
* Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum use of both the employee and equipment resources.
* Reviews and analyzes production to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
* Develops and implements methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and spoilage reduction methods
* Consults with Plant Manager and Corporate Engineering to modify machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
* Effectively communicates any changes in schedules, production or procedures to all shifts and communicates effectively with Production Control Manager
* Reviews production schedule and requests changes from PC Manager
* Has some Continuous Improvement trainings, implemented improvements and/or changes.
* Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

* 7+ years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
* Demonstrated leadership skills.
* Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access
* Proven Project Management skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
