Job Description

* Support pea planting sub-contractors with field location, seed, instructions, etc.
* Transport sweet corn seed to/from controlled climate storage location
* Pass DOT health physical and complete Fleet Driving training course
* Complete Background Check (effective 1/1/2015)
* Complete all required company safety training
* Move empty pea seed bulk bags from sub-contractors to Waseca and/or disposal location
* Transport empty seed pallets back to Waseca
* Deliver sweet corn seed to growers and satellite storage locations
* Instruct growers on sweet corn planting procedures including, population, seed depth, etc
* Stake field entrances with corresponding field marker
* Mark field entrance with GPS coordinate
* Scout pea and sweet corn fields for weed issues
* Scout pea and sweet corn fields for pest issues (per IPM program guidelines)
* Complete stand counts on pea and sweet corn fields
* Sample pea and sweet corn fields for harvest maturity tracking
* Instruct harvest crews about specific field conditions, entrances, special needs, etc
* Transport equipment/personnel/paperwork as needed
* Take germination samples on sweet corn carryover seed
* Involved in various record keeping, paperwork, etc
* Be trained and prepared to operate all inbound/outbound scale procedures
* Ensure field stake and all other items are removed from field upon harvest
* Count/confirm pea and sweet corn inventories

Ensure all company vehicle maintenance is current; notify supervisor of any issues
