0.1 Converting Utility employee performs assigned duties to help meet operational requirements.

0.2 Converting Utility employee reports to the production supervisor for the shift to which they are assigned. Converting Utility employee also follows the direction of the equipment operator when they are assigned to a machine crew.

1.0 Primary Converting Utility duties / responsibilities include:

1.1 - following all safety rules and practices;

1.2 - reading factory work orders, print cards, and other documents to learn customer requirements;

1.3 - identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders;

1.4 - performing assigned duties to insure that production needs are met;

1.5 - assisting other associates as needed;

1.6 - accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment;

1.7 - inspecting, counting, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications;

1.8 - identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject) products and materials;

1.9 - accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records;

1.10 - keeping the supervisor informed of any problems and/or unusual situations;

1.11 - maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping;

1.12 - maintaining teamwork with machine crews and other associates; and

1.13 - performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

1.14 NOTE: Miscellaneous labor is the entry level position for new manufacturing associates.

2.0 The qualifications for Converting Utility employee is the ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
