Under general direction of Unit Operations Manager and Technical Manager, individual performs a variety of patient contact duties related to the operations of radiologic equipment to acquire diagnostic images. Explain safety protocols and routine diagnostic procedures to patients. Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative when administering ionizing radiation. The individual must have proven problem solving skills, be able to provide leadership and training for staff and actively participate in departmental initiatives. Able to work independently but be aware of departmental workflow needs.

Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills including ability to report problems relating to staffing, morale, work methods and procedures

Fully meets all competencies of Radiologic Technologist Level 1

Actively supports Mission, Vision and Values and departmental initiatives by becoming actively involved in projects

Fully meets all competencies in the Operating Room, Fluoroscopy, Pediatric Imaging and Endoscopy (when applicable)

In-depth knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving System (PACS), Nuance (PS360), Black Diamond and Dameware

Accurately identifies problems and takes initiative to propose/implement appropriate solutions

Works effectively under pressure and provides leadership and training for Radiologic Technologist Level 1

Able to work independently and efficiently and part of a team

Proactively assist in competency based training for Radiologic Technologist Level 1 and Imaging students.

Call shifts required.

Successful completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

ARRT Certification

Licensed by the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board
