The Surgical Technician II is an Integral member of Surgical Team. Responsible to scrub in all OR cases. Also, assists the surgical team during procedures performed on patients to ensure appropriate selection/preparation, and sterility of instrumentation and equipment necessary contributing to a positive outcome for the patient. The OR Surgical Technician II will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Team to assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Surgical Technician Certification required. 1 year of Surgical Technician experience preferred. Must present and submit Certification of Graduation, as follows:
ARC/STSA-Accredited Surgical Technology Program
NBSTSA- Certification is conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
Staff adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards. Expertly performs role of a resource surgical technician in a specific specialty. Precepts staff members to scrub techniques and patient safety goals, relating to scrubbing. Contributes to the O.R. team by participating in staff in-service presentation. Accountable for accurate counts of sponges, needles and instruments as directed by surgical procedures. Able to scrub on all surgical procedures independently. Demonstrate knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment. Accountable for accurate counts of sponges, needles and instruments as directed by surgical procedures.
