Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

* Primary metrology and characterization development and application engineer supporting future generation technology and product development for display applications: u-LED, OLED, etc. for AR/VR/MR and direct view displays (smart-watch to TV), including novel materials, methods and equipment, process and integration flows, and device architecture and performance
* Determine requirements, evaluate options, make selections, and set up metrology and characterization tools and infrastructures, including onboard integration, to enable the technology and product development efforts in displays; breadth of metrology and characterization needs is comprehensive with analysis of materials, equipment, process, integration and device performance aspects
* Manage development programs, including inter-group and inter-division collaborations as well as integrating customer/industry technology and business requirements into internal product roadmap.
* Manage transfer of developed technology and products to business units, as needed
* Support understanding technical and customer requirements as well as solving complex field issues, utilizing systematic troubleshooting methodology, e.g., DOEs (Design of Experiments), and characterization methods to quickly determine root cause and action plans

Job specific knowledge:

* Demonstrates strong understanding and practical expertise in fundamental STEM concepts and ones own and related disciplines
* Requires expert knowledge and experience, including development and application thereof, in metrology and characterization methods and equipment, for application in understanding advanced materials (physical, chemical, optical, electrical, thermal, etc., attributes), process, integration and device performance in display industry
* Requires working knowledge and experience in the field of display technologies, u-LED, OLED, LCD, etc., from materials to device performance
* Solves complex problems; takes new perspectives on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
* Requires working knowledge and experience in vacuum deposition technology
* Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and factors that differentiate them in the market
