Job Description

We are growing our digital design engineering team within Facebook Reality Labs Research (FRL-R) Graphics. We build small scale research silicon to demonstrate our state-of-the-art graphics solutions. You will lead our efforts in chip implementation from RTL to silicon. Our custom ICs will drive our industry leading virtual and augmented reality systems. We are developing graphics solutions for AR/VR. You will own connecing our graphics algorithms and demonstrating end-to-end operation of our designs. You will collaborate with Silicon Architects in developing and implementing the custom and semi-custom mixed signal ICs to drive our industry leading virtual and augmented reality systems.

Digital Design Lead Responsibilities

* Define and drive research chip architecture roadmap, implementation and delivery

* Collaborate with design partners and silicon vendors to drive necessary quality and performance at the top level

* Drive the top-level integration and top-level verification of all SoC IPs

* Define the fabric and logic required for SoC integration, and partner with DV lead on verification

* Supervise RTL-to-GDS flow

* Support the DFT architecture and insertion, test program development, chip validation and chip life until production maturity

* Help create and maintain design documentation including IP/SoC performance specifications (owner), SoC Architecture document (collaborator/owner), IP/SoC design verification plan (collaborator) and SoC/chip bringup/validation plan (collaborator)

* Work with FPGA engineers to perform early prototyping

* Support integration of blocks into larger SoC environments

* Define efficient ASIC design flows/methodologies

* Help with SoC foundry and process node selection

Minimum Qualifications

* BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

* 7+ years of experience as a Digital Design Engineer and/or Chip Lead

* Experience SoC integration and ASIC architecture

* Experience in RTL coding, synthesis and SoC Integration of IPs

* Experience in digital design microarchitecture

* Experience with silicon vendor management

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters degree in EE or CE

* Experience with GPU architecture

* SystemVerilog OVM/UVM experience

* Experience with High-Level Synthesis (HLS)

* Python (or similar) scripting experience

* Experience in DFT/Testability requirement definition and understanding of test program development

* Experience with high speed interfaces like PCIe, USB, MIPI
