Manufacturing Intelligence:

Manager - Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Control Solutions

The newly created Manufacturing Intelligence organization within Pfizers Global Technology & Engineering will help to drive Pfizer Global Supply toward Industry 4.0 capability through Big Data, Process Analytical Technology, Advanced Process Control, Artificial Intelligence and robotics.

The Manufacturing Intelligence organization will identify and deliver high-value transformational opportunities focused on process insight and control of manufacturing assets and processes with the potential to substantially reduce cost and cycle time as well as increase robustness and productivity.

Within the Manufacturing Intelligence organization one of the teams (Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Control Solutions) will be accountable for development and deployment of novel process-focused Artificial Intelligence capability and for delivery of high impact Soft Sensor and Advanced Process Control solutions.

The successful applicant will be a member of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Control Solutions team. The Manager will have responsibility to develop and implement Advanced Analytics, Soft Sensors, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Process Control solutions/capabilities across Pfizer Global Supply to achieve actionable insights and enable continued improvement for pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality operations.

This position will be based at one of the core Global Technology & Engineering locations or at a Pfizer Global Supply manufacturing site and may require travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

* Understand business opportunities and identify and prioritize highest impact advanced analytics and control, artificial intelligence, machine learning and Industrial Internet of Things solutions

* Effectively manage complex projects and priorities, with a strong focus on business return

* Apply engineering and scientific theory, modeling tools, and experimental skills using data-rich lab/pilot/manufacturing instrumentation or process analyzers to improve process understanding and facilitate real-time process monitoring and control

* Responsible for developing and bringing novel process/ equipment focused solutions that enable a step change in manufacturing performance into routine use in the manufacturing environment

* Partner closely with Digital and Industrial Internet ofThings programs, and work with manufacturing information technology organizations to integrate manufacturing intelligence solutions with enterprise platforms to enable visibility, productivity and quality

* Expand on existing and deliver new innovative Industry 4.0 manufacturing technologies that drive insights and empower data-driven decision making and process control across the supply network

* Drive development and support implementation of mathematical models and digital twins of pharmaceutical unit operations

* Collaborate effectively internally and with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders with an open attitude towards fast learning

* Communicate effectively at multiple levels covering project technical details or progress and impact updates to key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes

* Relevant degree and background in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related technical field

* 5-8 years of relevant experience (BA), 3-6 years of relevant experience (MSc)

* Hands-on experience in key technical areas, including process analytics and control, data science, advanced multivariate data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence

* Proficient in one or more of the following programming environments: Python(preferred), R, Matlab, JAVA, Spark

* Familiarity with key Data Science software suites(Tibco Data Science and Spotfire, preferred) and cloud-based platforms (including AWS SageMaker)

* Familiarity with industrial process control, automation systems and advanced process control platforms (including DeltaV and ASPEN)

* Familiarity with data historian platforms(such as OSI PI), and real-time communication protocols(such as OPC, ODBS and MQTT)

* Familiarity with Big Data analytics and control platforms (such as PharmaMV, SIMCA, Statistica, Minitab)

* Expertise in Artificial Intelligence algorithms, such as Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and latent variable modelling for time series, root cause analysis and anomaly detection

* Self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills

* Good knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and related unit operations, and demonstration of delivering high business value through technical innovation
