Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Labor Relations Manager is responsible for contract negotiations and day to day contract administration, providing expert advice and labor relations support to line managers in Linde Gases US. This includes contract interpretation, disciplinary action decisions, dispute resolution, grievance and arbitration handling. The Human Resources Labor Relations Manager will also develop and deliver proactive union avoidance training programs in non-union represented locations. Expect travel to be approximately 75%, as this position will cover facilities in about one third of the continental United States.

Thorough understanding of the National Labor Relations Act and familiarity with pertinent decisions arising from the Act. Experience as first chair in contract negotiations is required. Experience in handling union grievances and arbitrations is expected.
Able to work in difficult and challenging labor relations environment. Must handle conflict and successfully deliver desired results, while maintaining credible and respectful working relationships with various labor union representatives.
Commits Linde US Gases and Praxair Distribution Inc. to 3 to 5 years collective bargaining agreements, with ensuing wage and benefit cost increases. Ensures continued flexibility in union contracts which will allow both businesses to operate free from inefficient constraints.

Bachelor's Degree preferably in Labor and Industrial Relations
Master’s degree a plus but not required
