Summary
The Plant Chemical Technician performs the following duties:
* Maintain the chemical laboratory as well as the chemical and water analysis systems.
* Perform scheduled and special chemical testing on boiler water, cooling water, wastewater (WPDES system), demineralizer and Reverse Osmosis system.
* Analyzing the results in order to determine the best course of action with the goal of maximizing efficiency and life expectancy of plant equipment.
* Clean, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance, including installing and replacing spare parts of all plant chemical/water instrumentation.
* Use electronic and/or mechanical test instruments to monitor plant chemical parameters for the purpose of troubleshooting, analyzing, and tuning
* Monitor and maintain peak condenser performance by monitoring chlorinations and performance data.
* Work Schedule: 12 hour alternative work schedule, rotating shifts (Days, Nights)
Minimum Qualifications:
* Applicant must have either a two-year associate degree in Chemical Technology or equivalent; a bachelor's degree with a minor in Chemistry; or a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
