Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Leads purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, sourcing and engineering departments to solve complicated material supply issues and maintain inventory at planned levels. Leads project team that may include different functions like planning and sourcing departments to solve supplier long-term issues and improve supplier performance. Provides inputs to engineering, MPM or SCM in supplier selection and assessment.

Drives problem analysis and corrective action from scorecard and metrics reporting. Initiates improvement activities to streamline business processes for procurement function, and drives the documentation and implementation of enhanced business processes. Participate or manage company-wide, multi-level, collaborative decision to set up or change cross-functional processes with other departments. Provide leadership over cross functions and complex projects for efficiencies.

Specializes in procurement, inventory control, Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and process control. Manages activities of the purchasing group in the managers absence. May function as a Focal to certify and re-certify purchasing community on purchasing processes. Acts as a trainer for purchasing departments. Support senior management for developing strategic plan and implementation on activities related to cost effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.

* Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a sourcing buying role
