* Transportation Team Lead will be visible to the Logistics team, working alongside of team members teaching and mentoring
* Transportation Team Lead will be the subject matter expert, getting involved with problem solving issues that arise with processes and workflows
* Observe and determine progress toward completing daily shipping requirements, move team members as needed
* Coordinate daily shipping assignments for team members
* Communicate effectively with clients, couriers and other operational departments
* Verify that quality assurance checks are completed and maintained
* Maintain accurate logs of all transportation and goods
* Complete freight claims for damaged shipments
* Coordinate domestic, international, and warehouse transfer shipments
* Coordinate internally managed orders
* Coordinate the movement of externally processed WIP and act as the primary point of contact with the supplier regarding the movement of materials
* Communicate daily with carriers and freight forwarders, in coordinating pickup and delivery of shipments
* Prepare and process required documentation; examples: commercial invoices, export documentation, certificates of origin, and bills of lading
* Provide rate quotes per customers requests for both current and future shipments
* Maintain standard operating procedures to reflect current processes
* Manage and maintain all record keeping requirements in accordance with Thermo Fisher policy
* Work closely with our warehouse personnel to ensure they have all documentation required to prepare shipment and understand regulatory requirements
* Determine load size and special handling requirements to optimize the best carrier for movement of goods
* Irradation scheduling back up support
* Participate in PPI to continually improve processes
* May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

* Must be organized and logical, willing to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
* Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and following verbal and written instructions
* Must be able to efficiently solve problems relating to servicing our internal and external customers
* Must have excellent computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft Office and be familiar with any other software pertinent to the position
* Must have very strong spreadsheet skills (Excel).
* Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
* Coach fellow team members influencing a positive safety culture and customer support approach
* Prior management experience preferred
