Basic Function
The Operations Technician Co-op works under the guidance and direction of full-time, qualified Operations technicians, monitoring and operating plant manufacturing equipment. Operating Technicians evaluate the unit's operating status, perform troubleshooting of processes and equipment in order to maximize unit reliability and quality production, authorize and monitor maintenance activities, and perform minor maintenance. This position receives direction from a production supervisor and support from the process specialist, maintenance and technical personnel.
Roles & Responsibilities
Mechanical/electrical/instrumentation aptitude, ability to work safely, working in a variety of environments and conditions (confined spaces, elevations, ambient weather conditions, noise), cooperate within a team setting maintaining high quality results and good housekeeping standards, respectful treatment of co-workers, math and measurement skills, occasionally work extended hours and weekends, understand and follow procedures/work instructions, basic computer skills (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets), ability to read drawings/blueprints.
