Global Strategic Marketing Manager, Consumer Product Ingredients

Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The strategic marketing position will be responsible for evaluating, developing, validating, and executing segment strategic plans to drive sales and profitability across the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) business.  They will also support the business as a global program manager during validation and execution. This role will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing for CPG and will engage with the global team in support of short- and long-term initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Target Market/Segment Development

Identify, quantify, prioritize market segments that warrant investment
Develop fact-based strategy via primary & secondary market research (where to play, how to win)
Develop customer targets via behavior analysis and overlap with value proposition
Develop a competitive landscape and build a value chain analysis
Develop business cases for target markets/segments
Develop “go to market” plan with portfolio and pricing strategy
Work closely with regional teams to develop regional market development plans
Incorporate globally impactful market factors into regional and local tailored business plans

Program Management & New Product Development (NPD)

Lead global team in overall program development and management
Connect core competencies with unmet needs to actively direct NPD efforts
Develop value proposition strategy and target portfolio
Identify alpha customer and validation market feedback loop
In collaboration with Technology, drive collaboration with strategic partners to accelerate NPD

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience in related markets and general knowledge of chemistry, manufacturing, & additives
Willingness to travel globally up to 30% of the time
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Track record of building and executing growth strategies with a strong project management background
Developing and executing go to market plans with a global perspective
Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix-based environment with multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong external focus with a growth mindset
Proven track record of building collaborative teams

QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERED

~5+ years of experience in specialty chemical/polymer & Consumer additives markets
Demonstrated knowledge in chemical industry in roles of progressive responsibility
Strong ability to network and liaise with internal and external partners
5 -10 years B2B marketing experience
Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Chemical Science or Engineering or other with specialty ingredient experience  
Advanced business degree or equivalent experience
