You Will Be Responsible For:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of an RN.
* Assist with developing scheduling for all ED TECHS / Paramedics in the Emergency Department
* Develop and maintain credentials and competencies with ED TECHS/Paramedics in the Emergency Department
* Exhibit a leadership resource for all ED Techs/Paramedics in the Emergency Department
* Performs electrocardiogram within the designated timeframe
* Assists patients to unclothe themselves and place patients on the monitor as indicated
* Responds to stroke alerts in the ED and safely transports patients as outlined in the policy
* Provides and documents treatments and procedures as indicated and within the defined scope of practice
* Provides supportive care and comfort by answering patient call lights, anticipating patient needs, and reporting observations to the RN.
* Obtains vital signs, weights, intake and output (I &O), and blood sugars.
* Maintains cart and supplies on the unit required for daily operations
* Participates in purposeful Hourly Rounding.
* Adheres to hospital policy addressing standard precautions, safety regulations and guidelines
* Provides relief for the Health Unit Coordinator and the Quick Registration Technician
* Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
* Completion of High School/GED
* Completion of approved C.N.A. or EMT or Certified Medical Assistant or Paramedic Program
* Current Florida State CNA, MAT, EMT, Or PMT.
* Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Job Summary:
The Lead ER Tech is accountable for performing routine care under the direction of the RN. S/he provides for the comfort of the patient and communicates according to protocol.
The Lead ER Tech is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission, and patient promise of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.
