Position Summary
The Instructional Designer analyzes, designs, and develops educational programs that will address the needs of JetBlue corporate and operational Crewmembers, while fulfilling Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for regulatory and non-regulatory training programs when applicable. As part of this role, the Instructional Designer manages client relationships, designs highly effective training and performance support materials, develops thoughtful, needs-based deliverables, and manages projects effectively. This involves partnering with stakeholders across the organization to analyze needs, recommend the right delivery option(s), design the solution, and support the implementation and delivery of the training program. The Instructional Designer should also be able to develop online or print-based instructional materials to adhere to internal Style & Brand guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities
Works with Leadership and peers to design, support, and maintain strategic initiatives including but not limited to: new program development, program evaluation, course maintenance, and process documentation
Works independently, with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), or with guidance from peers or Leadership to design, develop, and support educational programs as assigned, including but not limited to: eLearning, classroom training, virtual training, media, and other learning support materials
Partners with peers to effectively contribute to all phases of training development including content development, release, support, evaluation, and the revision cycle
Establishes, influences, and communicates guidelines and recommendations for process and procedure related to instructional design, content development, and project management
Provides quality assurance on developed content
Supports SMEs and peers in user experience and eLearning software/media tools
Plans work, monitors progress, and documents project issues through an online project management tool
Keeps abreast of new and developing trends in training and adult learning and applies them to Learning Design initiatives

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
One (1) year of experience leading or managing projects with multiple stakeholders
One (1) year of experience in a field related to adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development, or performance improvement
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize information/data and provide appropriate recommendations for learning solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Agile and flexible to contribute to multiple project types simultaneously
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work well with others as part of a team
Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing information and priorities
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Master’s degree in a field related to adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development, or performance improvement
Four (4) years’ experience in a field related to adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development, or performance improvement
Airline industry experience
Proficient with learning development tools, such as Articulate Studio or Storyline
Experience using MS Project, Workfront, or other project management software
Experience consulting with clients to determine the best instructional solutions and/or strategies
Proficient with SharePoint

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
