Highlights:

Using your sharp technical skills, you efficiently and effectively resolve complex technical issues for Video enterprise clients. As the Network Engineer II for Video Restoration, you are passionate about providing a quality client experience through troubleshooting and issue resolution. You maximize the departments success by monitoring our Video system and working with the team to maintain the mean time to repair metric according to the service level agreement (SLA).

As a collaborative team member, you successfully work with clients, enterprise technical support teams, upstream boundary teams, multiple internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve client issues. You maximize team effectiveness by serving as part of a 24/7 on-call network operations environment. You report to the Manager of Network Engineering - Managed Video Services for goals, guidance and assistance.

What you will do:

* Encourage company-wide excellence and growth by supporting all technical efforts to enhance the client experience.
* Drive network engineering projects by participating in the planning of network architecture, design.
* Maximize projects by integrating communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
* Improve productivity through in-depth new product evaluations and develop resolutions to network issues during implementation.
* Maintain product and service quality by assisting in the development and documentation of technical standards.
* Ensure a successful project completion by documenting and implementing approved procedure methods.
* Increase network capabilities through the design of protocol compatibility standards, network enhancements and implementation and improvement recommendations.
* Optimize and configure the existing network by planning and working on projects, systems and issues of medium to high complexity.
* Support tiers across the organization during program implementations by providing escalated troubleshooting and issue resolution.
* Enhance efficiency by serving on one or more projects simultaneously and occasionally as a project team lead.
* Guide and mentor less experienced team members to improve departmental productivity.
* Mitigate risks by complying with all industry-specific local, state and federal regulations for every project.

Required keys for success:

* Three or more years of data network experience.
* In-depth data networking knowledge with transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP), the open systems interconnection (OSI) model and optical transport.
* Expert in related industry specifications and standards for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), fiber, multi-mode, single-mode, unshielded twisted pair (UTP), bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet and transport technologies and protocols.
* Advanced knowledge of network design, devices, appliances, architecture, protocols and topology.
* Experienced in using internal and vendor ticketing and software tools.
* Deadline-driven with the ability to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced team environment.
* Knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
* Effective written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization.

How you will stand out from the crowd:

* Knowledge of Spectrum Enterprise Video products and services
* Experience with IPTV.
* Familiar with Fiber Connect and Fiber Connect Plus.
* Previous experience with Pro:Idiom.

Your education:

* Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (required).
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (preferred).
* Industry or vendor-specific certification and training, such as Cisco, Juniper or Alcatel-Lucent (preferred).
* DVEP certification (preferred).

Time Warner Cable (TWC) was an American cable television company. Before it was purchased by Charter Communications on May 18, 2016, it was ranked the second largest cable company in the United States by revenue behind only Comcast, operating in 29 states. Its corporate headquarters were located in the Time Warner Center in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, with other corporate offices in Stamford, Connecticut; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Herndon, Virginia. From 1971 to 1981, Time Warner Cable, as Warner Cable, owned Dimension Pictures.

It was controlled by Warner Communications, then by Time Warner. That company spun off the cable operations in March 2009 as part of a larger restructuring. From 2009 to 2016, Time Warner Cable was an entirely independent company, continuing to use the Time Warner name under license from its former parent (including the "Road Runner" name for its Internet service, now Spectrum Internet).

In 2014, the company was the subject of a proposed purchase by Comcast Corporation, valued at $45.2 billion; however, following opposition to the deal by various groups, along with plans by the U.S. government to try to block the merger, Comcast called off the deal in April 2015. On May 26, 2015, Charter Communications announced that it would acquire Time Warner Cable for $78.7 billion, along with Bright House Networks in a separate $10.1 billion deal, pending regulatory approval.

The purchase was completed on May 18, 2016; Charter had continued to do business as Time Warner Cable in its former markets, but has now re-branded these operations under the Spectrum brand in most markets (even Charter launched this brand in 2014), though it will continue to use the roadrunner.com email addresses and adelphia.net email addresses to new customers.
