OVERVIEW

Play a role in developing General Mills’ Competitive and Marketplace Intelligence capabilities. Our team is constantly monitoring competitive activity through investment dollars, patent activity, management changes, M&A, analyst reports and more to anticipate the impact to our business. As a Competitive and Marketplace Intelligence Associate you will guide the enterprise toward differential growth by anticipating competitive threats, shifts in consumer behavior and marketplace dynamics.

• You will collaborate with Corporate Strategy and Disruptive Growth teams.
• Additionally, you will gain insight into the GMI enterprise planning and M&A processes.

We are evolving our Competitive Intelligence program and taking on new challenges in the organization

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Scan external environment for shifts in competitors’ strategies and tactics
• Lead Competitive Intelligence activation sessions for Segments and Operating Units
• Partner with Corporate Strategy to evaluate potential acquisition targets
• Build relationships across Strategy and Growth teams and support GMI’s strategic planning process
• Create War Gaming best practices
• Manage Competitive Intelligence Knowledge Zone
• Respond to ad hoc requests from Strategy and Growth teams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, or other related field
• Ability to influence across levels. Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable with fast-paced and agile work environment
• Ability to synthesize data sources and inputs to create a compelling story
• Willing to learn and leverage new tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA or Masters degree in related field
• Experience drawing insight from a variety of data sources to inform marketing and consumer strategy and decision-making.
• Basic understanding of Syndicated or GMI custom point of sale data
• 2-3 years Answers on Demand experience
• Creating actionable and proven business implications
• Experience preparing strategic assessments of key competitors or market segments
