JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineer works within the Operations organization to establish and maintain a complete Manufacturing System of people, process, information, equipment, and infrastructure that enables the manufacturing plants to produce product without disruption. He/she will lead and/or participate in activities to research, develop, implement and maintain methods and processes used in the manufacture of product for all RA manufacturing plants. The Manufacturing Engineer will actively work in both the central office and local plant environment to collaborate with Design and New Product Producibility engineers to achieve optimum product design for manufacturability, define and lead projects to improve process, safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance at the manufacturing plants, develop and maintains process design and control documentation, and drive process standardization and governance of process change control. Works on issues of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires review of relevant factors. Exercises judgement within defined procedures to determine appropriate action. A focus of this role will be in creating and distributing training content for manufacturing engineers locally and globally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop, standardize, implement, maintain, and govern manufacturing processes across all RA manufacturing plants.

Create and distribute training content for manufacturing engineers. This includes being an active trainer and creating creative training content.

Audit the adherence to topics that are trained in the engineering curriculum.

Ability to speak and mentor/coach in a group setting, both in person and remote.

Provide recommendations, requirements, and justifications to support investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies and standardization activities.

Assist with the implementation of IT security and business productivity initiatives in the manufacturing plants.

Provide design input and execution support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plants.

Participate in, projects that will enable the plants to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.

Support justification for capital requests. Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements.

Participate in the procurement, installation and validation activities. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, to a broad audience of varying technical and cultural backgrounds.

Have an active presence and level of participation in both the central office and the local plant environments.

Collaborate with others from within and outside of the Operations group to achieve common objectives.

Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL:

Some travel is required (10% – 15%); possibly international.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with Project Management, Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, Typical Manufacturing Calculations (such as OEE, %Utilization), and a manufacturing environment.
