ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages nursing administration in identification of purpose and goals of nursing service and nursing education. Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates nursing care. Coordinates staffing. Manages budget preparation toward provision of adequate personnel, supplies and equipment. Responsible for nursing care in assigned area. Counsels and evaluates nursing personnel for optimum performance. Develops and participates in orientation and in-service education programs for areas of specialization. Collaborates with faculty and assists respective area.
EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Five years of professional nursing experience, to include one year in cancer care. One year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN).
Preferred:
Certification in oncology or specialty practice area.
