WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Administrative Contribution Claims Professional over no coverage files is responsible for the efficient and effective management of assigned ‘no coverage’ workers compensation claims which require review, denial and dismissal from the record.
Reviews new ‘no coverage’ files where BHHC is named in error, by verifying coverage and working up for denial.
Proficiently utilizes a variety of resources available to obtain coverage information e.g. WCIRB Connect, BRAVO, Contractors State License Board website, BPro, PP3, Certificates of Insurance, Self-Insured website.
Completes an accurate initial review of No Coverage referrals within 5 business days, using the No Coverage review template.
Denies no coverage claim within 14 days of BHHC's knowledge.
Enters appropriate reserves and ensures Claims Maintenance fields is accurate and/or updated as appropriate.
Files petition for dismissal of BHHC and joinder of the proper administrator(s).
Follows up timely with Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) to ensure BHHC is dismissed and removed from the official record.
Serves orders on all parties of record when designated and e-files proof of service.
If case is set for hearing or requires attorney assistance, complete a Litigation Referral timely. If a hearing is set, refer no later than 30 days out from the hearing. If notified of hearing within 30 days, complete referral within 24 hours.
Manages incoming documents, payments and reserves.
Fosters a positive working relationship with Company staff and external parties to cultivate a collaborative working environment.
Ensures all work is performed in accordance with Company procedures, standards, training, and supervisory direction.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
Education: High School diploma or equivalent certification required. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
Experience: Six months to one year related experience or training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LanguageAbility:Abilitytoreadandinterpretavarietyofdocumentsincludinglegalletters,legal pleadings, lien demands, medical records, medical bills, medical resource materials, claim notes, and claim data fields. Ability to write clear, concise notepad entries conveying analysis of documents. Strong oral and written communication ability. Strong investigative and negotiation skills.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of office operations, data entry and file management.
Computer Skills: Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software and be able to master and become proficient in proprietary and vended software programs.
