Southern Industrial Constructors is looking for Railcar Washer Specialist for a maintenance site in Gaston, SC. This is a 40 hour a week position, local only, no per diem is offered.

Inspect and prepare railcars for cleaning; clean railcars; and perform minor repairs on railcars. Complete all required documentation.

Essential Functions:

* Inspect and prepare railcars for cleaning per procedure:
* Gates, Gun Barrels, Hatch Closure Unit, Liners, Clean debris from hobo end.
* Open/close tube caps, hatches and bottom outlet gates for washing.
* Clean railcars from the top using whippers and hand held water hose. Clean outlets from bottom with hand held water hose.
* Repair minor issues with railcars - replace latches and hatches, replace gaskets etc.
* Remove/Install hopper pans for cleaning.
* Maintain water supply filtration system for wash station.
* Use railcar indexer to spot railcars. Set railcar hand brakes.
* Operate a vacuum truck system.
* Rinse bulk trailers.
* Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
* Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* Performs work based on procedures and maintains associated paperwork. Must be committed to following wash procedures.
* May be required to get certification in operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and man lifts.
* The candidate may be required to work from heights and confined spaces.
* Must complete scheduled daily workload.
* Must maintain detailed work packages and paperwork which requires use of handheld tablet.
* Must effectively communicate with co-workers and operations the status of all work types.
* Must be able to work overtime, to include nights and weekends, when needed in order to meet production deadlines.
* Knowledge of industry safety practices and willingness to participate in advancing safety culture.
* Must adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
* Great attendance and ability to work independently without daily supervision.
* Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
* Possess good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
