Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the National Sales Manager Tradeshow is to develop and manage large group business opportunities/accounts, in accordance with thresholds defined by management, that align with the Companys financial goals, maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and The Venetian Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Meets and exceeds quotas and financial goals set by management.
* Effectively solicits all existing, prospective target accounts and qualifies (leads) that meet defined business parameters, closes contracts through effective contract negotiations that align with Companys financial objectives, maximizes revenues, and drives customer loyalty.
* Develops and maintains account base of business through outbound efforts and customer relationships which maximizes revenue for Company.
* Partners with customers to understand their buying process, identifies multiple key meeting influencers and roles within the process to effectively cultivate the account.
* Partners with customers to understand key meeting priorities and effectively presents, positions, and aligns the Companys property to customers priorities to close business.
* Understands the overall market, including competitors strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand.
* Accurately forecasts and reports sales pipeline.

* Regularly and independently engages with cross-functional departmental leaders and team members to understand product and services available to convention groups to differentiate property from the competitive set.
* Travels and participates in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, and training (as assigned) during midweek, evenings and weekends, as needed.
* Supports other members of the Sales Team as needed.
* Builds and maintains relationships at all levels of business, including at senior and C-level positions.
* Sells and closes convention and visitor bureau, city-wide, or tradeshow sales.
* Meets and exceeds high-level and aggressive sales goals.

* Effectively utilizes a variety of sales skills, including negotiation, presentation, and communication.
* Successfully plans, develops, and executes sales strategies particular to assigned market areas.
* Documents all pertinent daily sales activities, catalogs account and client information accurately, as defined by department SOPs.
* Follows departmental and Company policies and procedures to evaluate and execute sales contracts.
* Safety is an essential function of this job.
* Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
* 21 years of age.
* Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
* High School Diploma or GED required, bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain Alcohol Awareness card, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
* Consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
* Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other Team Members, and outside contacts.
* Minimum five years of experience in convention and visitor bureau, city-wide, or tradeshow sales required. Two or more years of experience selling large complex group business, either at property or sales office preferred.
* Strong business acumen with keen ability to build and maintain relationships at all business levels.

* Ability to sell and close sales across various industries and at all levels of business.
* Contract negotiations.
* Strong presentation skills, both in virtual and in-person formats.
* Ability to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to build relationships, negotiate, and close sales.
* Ability to critically and effectively listen and respond to customers.
* Ability to independently develop, plan, and implement sales strategies aligned with Company values and objectives which are also appropriate for assigned market.
* PC proficient in applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Power Point.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
* Must be able to work a varied shifts, including midweek, evenings and weekends as needed. Local, regional, and national travel to participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, and training is required.
