Job Summary

Dominion's Chesterfield Power Station is one of the largest fossil-fueled power station in Virginia. Located about 15 miles south of Richmond on the James River, in Chesterfield County, the station can generate more than 1,400 megawatts.

We are seeking qualified applicants for an Operator Trainee position at our Chesterfield Power Station.

Duties include:

* Inspecting, operating and monitoring equipment used in the production of electricity;
* Performing daily routine operations;
* Perform Lock Out Tag Out of equipment for maintenance and valve operations;
* Performing preventive maintenance and inspections;
* Making entries into computer-based logbooks;
* Perform basic troubleshooting of systems.

Operator Trainees work a 12-hour rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must have availability to work overtime.

You will be placed in a 39-month standardized skills development program.

This position has a starting pay rate of $26.20 per hour and increases through each step in the development program to an upper rate of $34.82 per hour.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

* 6 months of Mechanical, Electrical, or other related craft or work experience;
* Ability to work indoors/outdoors in inclement weather and in a hot/cold, noisy, dusty environment;
* Good physical ability and agility. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds;
* The job requires an incumbent to stand, sit, walk, carry, bend, crawl, reach, squat, climb (ladders, poles, stairs, tall stacks, towers wearing appropriate safety gear), and to push/pull with arms, legs and body 75%-100% of the time;
* Proven written and oral communication skills;
* Basic computer knowledge of MS Office applications;
* Detail oriented;
* Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or more rounds to one full year of qualifications.
