The Opportunity
This position manages a team of sourcing professionals to drive progressive sourcing and category strategies in close collaboration with Ally's Auto Finance Technology group to deliver best in industry results in supply chain and supplier risk management.
Responsible for all aspects of team activities, advising organizational and process change to optimize performance and mitigate risk. Handle and coach strategic projects through all phases. Responsible for leading and controlling scope, quality and schedule while supervising all team activities and performance. Pivotal role in developing and nurturing close partnerships and relationships with Ally's primary lines of business and leadership teams to develop progressive and high impact supply chain strategies that support, advance and propel key business goals and strategies. Ensures team consistently and effectively creates, communicates and executes all strategic sourcing programs while continuously looking for ways to improve business relationships and operational performance through robust KPI and operational management techniques.
The Work Itself
* Ensure complete, accurate and proactive management of all contract inventories, P2P system/project updates, data quality metrics, service levels, supplier risk assessments, and sourcing events
* Develop, enhance and sustain successful business partnerships with key business line leaders across the Auto Finance Technology group by developing a deep understanding of key business strategies, objectives and challenges and using his/her extensive industry-specific category and sourcing expertise to devise and execute supply chain strategies that support and advance the business strategies
* Act as a valued expert in the types of spend categories and key suppliers that support the business line and will proactively develop strategies to improve service quality, lower costs and drive innovation through key supply chain partners supporting the business
* Lead all aspects of all sourcing/procurement activity in support of business lines
* Identify and collaborate with a variety of internal colleagues and workgroups critical to executing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, handling third party relationships and onboarding/offboarding supplier partners
* Work with business partners to maximize compliance and optimize spend
* Support the end-to-end management of critical supplier relationships, handling issues and disputes, managing risk, inventory, and performance
* Support and enable all required supplier risk management activities within the Lines of Business
* Identify and implement consistent and continuous process, policy and performance improvement programs
* Build and maintain an environment of transparency, performance and risk management that encourages innovation, integrity and teamwork.
The Skills You Bring
* Bachelor's degree required, MBA or JD strongly preferred
* 7+ years of industry-specific strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement management, having worked in a technology environment
* Experience with direct management of staff and virtual teams.
* Proficiency in computer applications, business and industry analysis, financial analysis, supplier selection and management, and contract negotiations.
* Extensive experience leading highly sophisticated and ambitious sourcing projects, running RFx's/auctions and negotiating third party supply contracts.
* Strong analytical ability to develop, analyze and present cost models, business cases, and strategic plans
* Comfortable working in an evolving and dynamic business environment with ability to seamlessly multi-task
* Ability to effectively lead large projects across multiple parties while delivering industry-leading results
* Proven ability to handle very difficult situations with clients and/or vendor negotiations
* Ability to build very strong relationships with internal business partners and experience working with multiple business partners in a collaborative and team-oriented manner.
