Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
* Consistently acquire the highest quality scans possible in relation to patient body habitus and/or condition in accordance to established protocols, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
* Proficiently and safely perform emergency, outpatient, inpatient, and OR exams in a timely manner including interventional procedures with the radiologist in accordance to Florida Hospital standards of care.
* Provide imaging procedures to all patients, regardless of age, race, or sex, with efficient and courteous care.
* Proficiently operate and maintain ultrasound equipment using proper technical factors and positioning.
* Proficiently perform portable exams/procedures when necessary.
* Recognize and report malfunctions in equipment and discontinues use as a safety precaution before a more costly repair is needed.
* Always verify patient identification and reconfirm ordered/requested exams for accuracy.
* Monitor and assess patients during exam/procedure in accordance to established guidelines.
* Utilize Radiology computer systems to properly perform, complete, update, cancel, or charge exams and transmit images for interpretation.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills with all staff, patients, families, and physicians.

* Work closely with radiology staff, coworkers, and other departments to facilitate patient care across modalities and develop positive working relationships.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
* Abdomen, Abdominal Doppler, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Vascular, and Interventional Sonographic Procedures.
* Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radworks, and PACS.
* Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
* Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds and ages.
* Must maintain all required registries/licenses to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
* Maintain responsibility for all FHC continuing and annual education
* Breast, Prostate, and OR ultrasound imaging skills
* Good organizational skills
* High School Graduate AND Graduate of accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
* Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred
* One year of ultrasound experience in a hospital setting preferred
* Registry eligible or registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in at least one specialty registry.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
* ARDMS licensed in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and/or Breast preferred
Job Summary:
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer uses Ultrasound to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data to aid the physician in the diagnosis of disease and/or injury while maintaining the highest standard of care.
