Description

The Global Hydrogen division of Linde. is currently seeking a Production Intern for our Hydrogen Production Facility in Sweeny, TX. Under the direction of supervision Production Intern will be required to follow operating procedures, this position is responsible for safely performing various operational duties in a hydrogen production facility. Responsibilities and duties at this level typically involve non-routine problems and solutions requiring application of technical knowledge.

Under the routine direction of a supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of complex operations and duties in a production environment.

Internship Duties will include:

* Qualify on outside operations

* Startup and shutdown of process equipment

* Use established procedures

* Monitoring and adjusting equipment and plant process operating parameters

* Correctly performing valve line-ups, preparing equipment for maintenance work including lock-out-tag-out

* Monitor and maintain proper water chemistry on site

* Communicating plant maintenance needs to management

* Learn the importance of housekeeping

* Troubleshooting equipment and process abnormalities

The successful candidate will be required to work 8 or 10 hour shifts at least two or three days per week (MondayFriday).

Occasional opportunities to work overtime may be required.

The position will be filled as a paid internship.



Qualifications

* Effectively communicate with fellow operators, technicians, engineers, and managers
* Adhere to all Corporate and Plant policies
* Maintain the highest degree of personal safety and environmental accountability at all times
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping
* Participate in daily and monthly safety and production meetings
* Willingness to progress into a process operator position
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
* Ability to work at heights
* Applicants must be currently enrolled in a course of study pursuing an Associates Degree in Process Technology to apply for this position. Applicants not currently pursuing an Associates Degree in Process Technology will not be considered for this position.
