BROAD FUNCTION:
The ESG Communications Coordinator will play a key role in advancing our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and programs. The ideal candidate will think strategically about how to maximize our positive impact inside and outside of IPG. They will do so by partnering with internal departments organizing community engagement opportunities, ensuring continued compliance with reporting obligations, and improving on ESG performance, reporting and accountability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Assist in refining, and executing IPG's ESG program
* Work on IPG's the GRI (Global Report Initiative) reporting and other sustainability reporting Develop and maintain content for Sustainability and Purpose section of company website
* Work collaboratively with IPG communications colleagues to mine for stories, examples and proofpoints of IPG's ESG track record and impact for use in reporting and internal and external communications
* Find opportunities with external partners, including non-profits and IPG clients, on shared ESG initiatives and goals
* Work closely across various departments such as Controllers, Legal, HR and DE&I
CORE SKILLS:
* Knowledgeable of and experience with GRI Reporting and other ESG reporting frameworks
* Ability and experience applying analytical skills to develop appropriate organizational responses, programs, and actions
* Experience working across global business functions and internal and external collaborators
* Good writing, editing and analytical skills
* Ability to identify and analyze key trends and issues impacting companies and other organizations around ESG issues
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* B.A. or B.S. degree (environmental studies or sustainability focus a plus)
* Some professional or intern experience
* High level of proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent oral/written communication, time management and prioritization skills
* Strong writing skills and interest and/or experience in marketing/advertising or client services
* Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with composure
* Analytical ability required to gather, evaluate and summarize data for reports
* Exemplary skills and attention to detail in producing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks and demands
