The Optical Supply Planner in Barberton, OH is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of manufacturing and distribution for the Optical Monomers business. The Planner will be tasked with taking the demand plan and developing the supply plans using capacity modeling while ensuring the lowest cost of ownership model for the business. This role also acts as a liaison and communication point between Plants, Sales, Transportation, Tollers and Warehousing, keeping all parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the business. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, using analytical skills to resolve issues/problems!
Key Responsibilities
* Manages Toller relationships, including raw materials, capacity planning and feedstock supply for Tollers to ensure enough time is allowed for production, packaging of material and shipping to the Barberton facility to meet customer demands
* Oversees inventory and supply planning and coordination responsibilities for assigned plants, processes or warehouses within the Optical Monomers business
* Maintains capacity plans, production schedules (work closely with Plant & Local Planning), and/or finite schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service, and cost objectives
* For some locations/plants, responsibilities may also include inventory stock transfer and replenishment responsibilities
* Inventory Management provide input on Old Age material to determine action required to initiate salvage or disposal of product
* Track plant/business performance KPIs to the established supply chain plan such as OTIF, Old Age, Days of Stock. Will work closely with Strategic planner on Forecast Accuracy and Bias for Toller produced items
* Identifies ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas
* Provides supply planning expertise to the commercialization of new products or resolution of key inventory shortage issues
Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree, preferably in Supply Chain or in Operations/Supply Planning
* At least 5 years of experience in a planning environment
* Previous experience in a Supply Planning or Supply Chain Management environment is strongly desirable
* APICS certification as a CPIM is beneficial
* SAP experience a plus
* Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and other desktop applications for modeling.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing dynamic environment
* Ability to build strong work relationships is essential
