The Model/Anlys/Valid Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Job purpose and background:

This position is part of the Model Risk Management (MRM) organization under the Global Head of Inventory Attestation & Model Identification within Independent Risk. Specifically this team coordinates:

* Model Identification Process by which a potential model, including Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning object, is identified by Citi businesses and functions, assessed, and if determined to be a model by MRM, is recorded in the model inventory.
* Validation Plan and Pre-Validation Assessment (PVA) Oversight. The Validation Plan includes a schedule of model documentation submission to MRM for validation, prioritized by initial materiality tier.
* A firm-wide effort to execute a senior management firm-wide model attestation on completeness and accuracy of Citis model inventory. This process involves liaising with senior management across the organization, including executives two levels down from the CEO. Participates on teams to solve business problems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Projects across MRM mainly focus on developing/enhancing and executing processes as needed. (Ex: Enhancement to Model Inventory Attestation and Model Identification execution.)
* Execute controls over Model Identification and Model Inventory Attestation processes
* Liaison with other internal businesses and functions (Ex. Model Sponsors and Model Inventory Attestation Reviewers)
* Liaison as required with Model Risk Management Organization and Risk Management
* Contributes to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within the model risk organization.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
* Participates on teams to solve business problems
* Manages model risk across the model life-cycle

Qualifications:

* 6-10 years experience
* Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
* Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
* Self-motivated and detail oriented
* Demonstrated project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time.
* Strong interpersonal and people management skills
* Strong presentation and speaking skills
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Must be very organized and good at prioritization
* Good at dealing with people
* Preferred Prior Experience: Project Management, Process Execution, Governance, Controls
* Methodical and proactive approach, with strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills
* Proven time and task management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
* Highly proficient in Excel

Education:

* Bachelors/University degree, potentially Masters degree
