Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD) lead for the Homeland Missile Defense Program. In this role, you will provide technical expertise for MCAD deployment, sustainment, and problem resolution while ensuring that preferred engineering tools, standards, and modeling methodologies are applied. You will interface regularly with management and engineers within the Mechanical Design organization and work closely with several other organizations and internal customers.

The MCAD Lead's primary responsibility is to drive efficiency throughout the program lifecycle with primary focus on enabling the MCAD user community through the efficient use of enterprise tools and standards. A boots-on-the-ground team member that ensures outstanding modeling performance while adhering to CAD standards and driving commonality. The successful candidate must exhibit proactive attributes and demonstrate a strong aptitude for critical thinking and efficiency.

KEY MCAD LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
- First-stop resource for designers/engineers encountering issues with MCAD tools

- Raise critical issues and communicate action plan to management

- Supervise model performance and associated visualization needs

- Interface and collaborate with MCAD Solutions team on tactical and critical initiatives

- Coordinate with various fields (e.g. Design, Analysis, Manufacturing, Checking, Configuration Management, etc.) to ensure efficient design processes are in place and being used

- Collaborate with users external to the program (i.e. customers, subcontractor, etc.) as applicable to ensure MCAD work meets program/project needs

- Champion MCAD standard methodologies

- Support real-time review and resolution of MCAD modeling issues and interferences

- Represent the program on central MCAD Lead forum and vote on MCAD related decisions/changes

- Maintain knowledge of Digital Transformation activities and look for opportunities to implement digital processes on the programs/projects

Basic Qualifications:
Highly proficient with Creo Parametric
Experience with Creo View, EPDM (PTC Windchill), and configuration control processes
Experience assisting other CAD users with issue resolutions
Understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, and materials
Experience with concept development, design, review, manufacture, test, and integration
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance; US citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
Experience with model-based definition (Data Set Rating 6)
Experience with dual EPDM systems and data transfer processes
Experience with MCAD automation techniques (Pro/Toolkit, C++, VB.NET)
Ability to develop, document, and deploy MCAD practices
Design Verification/Checking experience
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation, including SAP, Q-notes, test procedures, etc.
Knowledgeable in mechanical design and hardware integration as it applies to missiles
Experience developing or maintaining sites and other informational resources using Microsoft SharePoint, Confluence, or similar tools
Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product teams
Demonstrated commitment to process improvement
Ability to organize, motivate, and lead technical personnel
Familiar with CPE functions
Familiar with earned value (CAM) principles
Excellent communication skills
