Role Summary

The Airport Affairs Portfolio Manager is the subject matter expert in real estate activities on the mid-continent and east coast for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role defines long-term strategy for the development and management of the companys real estate assets at airport properties and exercises latitude and initiative to ensure Alaskas facilities support overall network and revenue goals.

Key Duties

* As the lead subject matter expert in airport real estate activities across a portfolio of airports, represents all property interests with relevant airport authorities, ports, and business partners to serve the companys real estate needs.

* Defines long-term strategy for the development and management of the companys real estate assets at airport properties.

* Exercises considerable latitude and initiative to manage leased space requirements and development, coordinating use-planning efforts, negotiating leases, subleases and operating agreements.

* Responsible for managing the rents and landing fees budgets, as well as the airport capital budget and operating expenditures.

* Influences and collaborates closely with key business partners within Alaska including network and capacity planning, marketing, airport operations and governmental relations on the timely and vetted dissemination of key information.

* Networks and maintains relationships with leadership, airport staff, other airlines, local and federal agencies and relevant airline associations.

* Develops complex reports, analyzes, and implements key strategies for financial risk mitigation and business opportunities.

* Coordinates the review, execution, and implementation of contractual agreements with internal and external stakeholders.

* Serves in leadership roles on the Airline Airport Affairs Committees and represents the airport development team with relevant stakeholders.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

* 7 years of experience in airport or airline operations, or related area.

* Bachelors degree, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.

* Experience in financial analysis, interpreting architectural drawings and understanding operational requirements.

* Ability to work with other Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air departments, other airlines and airport representatives to reach business and capital project objectives on complex, long-term projects.

* Demonstrated history of managing, supervising and motivating outside vendors to achieve company results.

* Track record of demonstrating good judgement, strong business acumen, and executing plans with a sense of urgency and a mind for safety.

* Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently (both in and out of the office) with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.

* Superior communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships with internal and key external business partners.

* Ability to travel as needed to support the business.

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Minimum age of 18.

* Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

* 2 years of experience in contract negotiation, drafting and administration in an airport environment.

* 2 years of experience in simple to moderately complex airport rates and charges models.

* 2 years of experience interacting with large and/or complex airport organizations, ideally with a medium to large port authority or airport system.

* 1 year of experience with terminal and airfield capacity and modeling.

* 1 year of experience interacting with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airports District Office (ADO) staff and leadership, including experience with Airport Layout Plans (ALPs), Master Plans and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).

* A Master of Business Administration or a Juris Doctor.
