The Radiological Protection Health Physicist will provide technical support to a specific function, area or system within the plant.

The Health Physicist will provide technical support to a specific function, area or system within the plant and will be responsible for:
Summary of Position Duties
* Monitoring all aspects of the Radiation Protection program and performance indicators to include:
* ALARA Program
* Ensuring that ALARA committee meetings are held as required; preparing agenda and tracking actions
* Maintaining the ALARA suggestion program
* Administer the station ALARA program requirements, dose reduction planning and implementation, dose tracking and radiological outage planning activities
* Performs Outage Planning activities as deemed necessary
* Perform assigned outage duties during outages
* Implementing special projects to improve Radiation Protection
* Tracking/Trending all radiological data related to plant performance indicators
* Benchmarking industry on Radiation Protection issues and site performance
* Filling the Emergency Response Organization position
* Support of dosimetry
* Source Control Program
* CAPCO
* Budget
* Document Control
* Radis Admin.
* Develops/upgrades RP related procedures to ensure appropriateness, accuracy and applicability to RP support functions
* Planning, organizing and managing work to meet project schedules and changing priorities
* Monitors, analyzes, trends and prepares reports for assigned areas of work or systems
* Prepares, revises and processes department procedures as specified by RP Supervision
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education Requirements
* HS diploma or equivalent required
* Associates Degree in Radiation Protection Technology a physical science is desirable
* Bachelors Degree in Radiation Protection, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry or other physical science is desirable.
* NRRPT desirable
Background/Experience Requirements
* 5 years Experience in nuclear power Radiation Protection or Radiation Protection programs is preferred
* 3 years BWR Radiation Protection Technician experience is preferred
* Experience with nuclear power plant outages, access control and ALARA is preferred
* Applicant must be able to obtain an unescorted badge at all SNC sites
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases are highly desirable
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required. Strong presentation skills are also required
* Strong ability to make decisions and drive behaviors is required
* Strong working knowledge of BWR nuclear power plant systems, processes, and clear understanding of and ability to apply regulatory requirements to plant settings are preferred
* Strong interpersonal skills are required
* Ability to balance multiple objectives and set priorities is required
* Ability to problem solve and seek alternative solutions to complex issues is needed
