Microsoft Azure Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's Intelligent Cloud mission. CHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. This Hardware Engineer role needs a self-motivated and self-starting individual that can work in a fast-paced lab environment. Leading a team of vendors, you will be coordinating with many different teams to resolve technical issues and define processes for new projects.

Parse and process incoming Techease tickets for CHIE Labs, including equipment deployment, setup, modification, teardown and reclaim. Manage Benchspace As A Service (BAAS) for specific labs. Onboard new partners to BAAS. Perform daily walks of the labs, ensuring all BAAS locations are in use or ready for checkout by partners. Work with partners to ensure BAAS locations are used securely, safely and properly. Perform administrative duties in the BAAS Portal while working with Development team on enhancements and bugs. Provide training, documentation and how-to support for working in CHIE Labs. Provide support to external partners. Sanitize, clean and organize CHIE Labs (Covid-19).

Required Qualifications

5+ plus years working in a test lab

2+ years leading a small team of technicians

Preferred Qualifications

BS Degree in Computer Science or related major, and/or 4+ years equivalent experience
