Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Risk and Controls Supervisor to support our Corporate Finance team. There is a preference for this position to be based in Los Angeles, CA for proximity to the rest of the team, but will be considered as remote/telecommute based from other US office locations.

The Risks and Controls Supervisor assists with the communication and implementation of risk policies and processes. The Supervisor reports to the Controllership Director and forms strong relationships with all key stakeholders across AECOMs diversified operations. They will facilitate the identification, evaluation, management and mitigation of issues representing accounting, financial or operational risk. They work with both internal and external audit to plan and execute the annual assessment of internal controls over financial reporting. Strong knowledge of accounting and internal controls will assist you in identifying and mitigating risks, ensure accurate documentation of control descriptions, and outlining the companys accounting policies. Responsibilities and requirements for this position are as follows:

Responsibilities:

* Plan, coordinate, and administer audit of internal controls over financial reporting

* Liaise with internal and external audit regarding the timing and extent of global testing

* Advocate for management in planning and reviewing results of audit testing

* Proactively communicate status and solutions for issues to management

* Coordinate with the Corporate Controllership and other key stakeholders in the development of policies and controls documentation for new or revised accounting standards

* Identify process improvements to enhance speed and accuracy in financial reporting

* Work with process and business owners to proactively identify and correct weaknesses in internal control

About Corporate-General

* As a member of the corporate team, you will work with professionals at our headquarters in California and in business offices around the world to advance AECOMs global strategies and priorities. With positions around the globe, the Corporate team includes finance, legal, human resources, information technology, marketing and communications, and real estate functions.

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or similar, plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

* Strong understanding of accounting and auditing standards, theories, concepts and terms (including Sarbanes Oxley, COSO Integrated Control Framework, and enterprise risk management).

* Understanding of IT audit procedures, techniques, and internal control concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters degree in accounting, finance, or similar field.

* Prior experience in the construction and engineering industry a plus

* CPA preferred

* Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred

* Prior experience with Hyperion and Oracle is a plus

* Strong analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal)

* Self-motivated, adaptive, proactive, quick learner that works well with others
