Basic Purpose and Objective:
The Die Setter, in accordance with general established policies and procedures, sets molds and adjusts injection molding machines to prescribed temperatures, pressures, and time settings. Removes molds from injection molding machines. Purges barrel to prepare for next material.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

* Positions and aligns tool in molding press.
* Utilizes necessary and required wrenches/tools to secure mold.
* Operates all phases of the injection molding machine in setting up clamp positions, barrel temperatures, timer and pressure to prescribed parameters.
* Unclamps mold and removes from injection molding machine.
* Locates and transports molds from mold storage.
* Cleans surface of mold prior to removal from injection molding machine.
* Visually inspects mold for damage or other irregularities prior to removal.
* Operates forklift trucks.
* Retrieves set-up information from files.
* Relocates repaired tools from tool room to mold storage area.

Education Required:

* High school diploma

Experience Required:

* Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
* Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, mensuration, logarithms, slide rule, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry.
* Speak clearly and distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation, variations in word order, using past, present, and future tenses. Write compound and complex sentences, using cursive style, proper end punctuation, and employing adjectives and adverbs. Must have vocabulary sufficient to communicate technical information required, reading at a moderate rate and have the ability of looking up unfamiliar words for meaning, spelling and pronunciation.
