International Paper is looking for a MPS Service Technician to be based in Corona, CA. The Mechanical Packaging Services Department provides technical, mechanical support on box making equipment. It maintains inventory of over 500 pieces of equipment to be utilized in box making, supporting IPs corrugated plants across the nation. Provides 24/7 service primarily in the agriculture segments and seasonal transition that coincides with them. A definite need for willingness to travel (in California and Arizona), troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis is primary concepts to the technical aspects for the services provided by the Dept.
The MPS Technician installs, repairs and services box forming equipment in the shop and in the field. To include but not be limited to, motors, servo/chain drives, glue systems, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems/controls.
Responsibilities:
* Work safely maintaining housekeeping standards up to part.
* Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
* Repair machinery in a field environment.
* Performs machine installs, set ups and change-overs.
* Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
* Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
Qualifications:
* High School Graduate, trade school preferred.
* Must have valid state drivers license with good driving record.
* 5+ years of hands on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Additional training in Electrical, Pneumatics and basic parts fabrication strongly desired.
* Corrugated experience strongly preferred.
* Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
* Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
* Ability to troubleshoot problems with various pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.
* Ability to perform root cause analysis and effectively initiate immediate corrective action.
* Working knowledge and ability to utilize personal computers and software.
* Working knowledge and ability to utilize shop equipment to include drill press, lathe, mill, welding/fabricating tools, etc.
* Ability to understand specification sheets, PLCs, control logic and schematics.
* Must be able and willing to work flexible hours as our customers have 24/7 operations.
* Must be willing to travel a seasonal team rotation, as this position serves clients nationally and internationally.
