Facebook is seeking a Digital News Curator to help drive editorial strategy and news content experiences. This person should have an extensive editorial background, experience working with product teams and great attention to detail. Were looking for someone who can think creatively about coverage and experiences, as well as curate at a high level across a diverse range of topics. This person should also have a sense of national and global trends and be familiar with journalists and experts. The role is likely to evolve over time, requiring a flexible approach to both the work and the way that it is structured, as well as a nuanced and collaborative working style.
Digital News Curator Responsibilities
* Support the editorial strategy in collaboration with the product team
* Liaise with other stakeholders, like product, partnerships, legal and policy, around new and existing work
* Curation of different media types into unique product experiences
* Collaboration with other members of the curation team around coverage and coverage planning
* Support and oversee curation updates across multiple products, through partnerships with internal and external partners
Minimum Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in digital media, news and journalism
* Demonstrated experience in building relationships with a complex network of global internal stakeholders across product, partnerships and other teams
* Proven knowledge of the content and news ecosystems
* Experience overseeing editorial initiatives and/or coverage planning
* Experience copy editing and/or fact checking
