An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for an Engineering Manager to lead our Wafer Development Fabrication Team (DFAB) and Epitaxial Materials Team within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.

The Engineering Section Lead in this role would be responsible for directing a group of skilled process support engineers and epitaxial growth engineers to fabricate advanced microelectronic devices in accordance with various technology roadmaps in support of Raytheon Technologies business pursuits. These road maps consist of both near term efforts on the cusp of transition-to-production, as well as longer term development efforts that maintain a pipeline of innovation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in III-V semiconductor processing and III-V epitaxial growth, preferably in GaAs or GaN, with a solid foundation in semiconductor device physics. In addition to managing the team, the candidate will be expected to provide technical and project leadership on at least one of the several technology focus areas. The candidate will also be responsible for keeping multiple engineering cleanroom laboratories in compliance with Raytheon policies and directives and managing their respective overhead expenses.

The candidate would be expected to direct group members based on business priorities, and would be the main interface to the various Engineering and Operations teams to maintain situational awareness of what those priorities are. The candidate would provide support on technical tasks and allocate resources as needed. AMS is looking for a dynamic individual with a solid track record of project leadership, technical acumen, and exhibited emotional intelligence to lead our highly capable team to meet the needs of a very innovative business.

Required Education, Skill, and Experience:

* BS in Engineering and eight years of relevant experience
* Experience in semiconductor process development
* Experience leading teams and/or projects
* U.S. Citizenship status is required

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:

* MS or Ph.D. degree in Engineering
* Excellent communication ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
* Excellent organizational skills
* Prior leadership in the development of complex semiconductor technologies
* Track record of patents and/or publications
* Experience with earned-value (EV) management
* Current DoD Secret level security clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain and hold a DoD secret security clearance.

This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of any clearances and/or accesses necessary for the position. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
